As I mentioned yesterday I
was looking forward to, yet saddened at the same time about today’s
maternity photo shoot. We headed out to the middle of nowhere into the
snow to start taking pics... at -20 C!! (That is -8 F for my American
friends).
Brrrrrr!!!
Just as we began I looked over my shoulder and noticed a sundog...
A what?
A bright spot on the parhelic circle;
caused by diffraction by ice crystals; two or more parhelia are usually
seen at once in the form of a small halo or rainbow near the horizon.
What better sign than to see a rainbow?
It was just what I needed.
It brought a few tears.
And then brought on a lot of smiles...
and many many laughs.
And so continued a fabulous 3 hour session!
