There...

Where is there? ... if there is in fact a there?
Have you grown or are you still the same?

Or are you just gone?

And if you have grown...
Who are you today?
What color are your eyes?
Do you have ponytails?
Do you laugh a lot?
Who do you play with?

Who hugs you first thing in the morning?
Who kisses your owies better?
Who tucks you in at night?

Do you think of me?
Do you wonder who I am?
Or are you able to see and hear me?

Most of all...
Do you miss me?
Do you know how much I miss you?
Can you feel how much I love you?

Oh how I wish you were here instead of there.

  1. Did I write this? Cause I sure can relate to this whole post. I have to believe there is a "there" because if there isn't a "there" they are way too many coincidences in our lives. I guess "there" is actually in our hearts (no pun intended for claire winks)and minds. That's where we hold them, kiss them, play with them. I wonder all these same things.....*hugs*

    1. It so nice to know that others can relate.

As you know, I am not a religious person so the whole notion of heaven, while it sounds lovely and fabulous, still seems so very foreign to me. I just don't get it. Too many other questions that remain unanswered.

'There' in our hearts is the next best thing then in our arms... or so I have to believe!

  2. In my mind and in my heart, there is a place with giggles and snuggles. There is a place where a mother- and father-to-be tried and tried to have a little one for years and just could not. There is a place where a crib sat waiting for a little bean to fill. There is a place where a family waited through a journey far more painful and long and tumultuous. Until one day, when you were taken from my womb where you grew and placed inside a mother who had tried for years and years to have a healthy little baby. In my mind, 'there' is a home, a loving family full of life, laughter, giggles and snuggles. I find peace in feeling as though my womb, three times, helped give way to a family to feel the same joy I feel with my two boys. XOXO
