Community Support for F2F...
Since having our Face2Face Yellowknife posters and 'business' cards made, Jennifer and I have met with both Stanton Territorial Health Authority as well as Yellowknife Health and Social Services Authority and have received such positive feedback and support! Both agencies have agreed to post and promote our Face2Face Yellowknife friendship group within the hospital as well as within our 2 local clinics.
It is such a comfort to know that women who experience a loss will now get an immediate and direct link to much needed support...
...something I wish I had had after losing Claire. I am happy to know that what I had hoped to someday do, I have been able to accomplish with the encouragement, friendship and support that Jennifer has given me. She is a go-getter and a great friend to have in my corner! She has pushed me out of my comfort zone and for that I am thankful. If it weren't for her, none of this would have come to be.
It's so conflicting to say that I am thrilled that we have been able to do what we have done because I wish there was no need for this friendship group at all. Babies shouldn't die. Period. However, it happens and I have been through it twice and I know that immediate and local support would have helped me immensely, therefore I find some peace in knowing that I am now in a position to help others through their grief... not because I am healed, but because I get it.
Thank you to both Stanton Territorial Health Authority and Yellowknife Health and Social Services Authority for giving us your time and for showing Jennifer and I that you have faith in us and our group and value what we are bringing to our community.
